What God Wants
Matthew 28:19-20 says:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
As one who has accepted Jesus, I hold a responsibility like no other–the greatest commandment EVER given has been given to me personally. God entrusts me with the commandment and knows that I can follow through with it.
But He not only does that, He gives me the Holy Spirit who lives inside of me and guides me. With His help, I can literally do anything–that’s a promise from God Himself.
Philippians 4:13 - “I can do all things through him [Christ] who strengthens me.”
God never gives me too much to handle. He knows me better than I know myself. And He never EVER blocks me out or ignores me.
1 John 5:14-15 - “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.”
So, why am I here on this earth?
Some people are here to have fun. Some are here to make money; some have no purpose in life whatsoever. But I am here because I have a responsibility.
Just like my Christian ancestors have before me, I need to spread the gospel to everyone, every person, and I have NOTHING to fear. God has given me everything. A new home, a new family, a new mindset, joy, and a lasting peace.
To not do what He wants and keep my light under a basket would be the most selfish thing I could ever do.
Matthew 5:15-16 - “Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
God is not willing that any should parish. He never turns anyone away, His grace is overflowing, and His love is mighty.
So, to show love to my God, I must follow through with His greatest commandment and share the gospel with everyone.
2 Peter 3:9 - “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
