Have you ever been in a situation, or may be in one right now, where you have lost the fight against sin? You have fallen into anger, lust, deceit, worry, or some other kind of sin, and now you feel like a failure, unworthy of God’s grace?

My friend, you are not alone!

The great apostle Paul dealt with that same issue that all Believers deal with, and that is our sin nature.

“18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.” - Romans 7:18-20

We ALL face the struggle of sin. There is no sin that you face that has not already been faced by past and present Believers!

But here is the thing, we can rest assured that no matter how much we fail, we are eternally forgiven by the blood of Christ!

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. 3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” - Romans 8:1-4

It is not through our own good works that we are saved, but simply through believing and relying on Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross as the payment for our sin, and His resurrection, conquering death!

We will all have struggles through the Christian journey, but we must remind ourselves of the truth that Jesus has overcome the world as we go about our daily lives.

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33
