The Power of Love | Anchored in Hope Devotional

"Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses." (Proverbs 10:12)

The word "hate" is certainly a strong word. We may say we hate part of our job, a certain school subject, or some sort of food or drink. However, we are much less likely to use that word when describing a person. But the truth is, sometimes that very word, hate, would be an accurate way to describe our feelings toward someone. We hate something about them which causes strife like the today's verse describes. Jesus talked about loving even our enemies, like unbelieving coworkers for example. As this verse states, "love covers all offenses". Sometimes a simple caring gesture, thoughtful smile, or even the making or accepting of an apology could make a world of difference in a relationship with someone. By God's grace, let's be slow to hate and quick to love!
