The Light of Christ | Anchored in Hope Devotions

Life can feel heavy and dark at times. The evil in our world seems to grow stronger every day. Sometimes the sinful choices of others or even our own sinful struggles can weigh us down. But God's glorious light can shatter the darkness!

"The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” Matthew 4:16

Jesus is that Light!

"When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

He came to rescue us from our helpless, sinful state through His death on the cross and resurrection. When we trust in His finished work, He transfers us from the kingdom of darkness to His kingdom, and every day, we have His radiant light to guide us in the way we should go, to reveal areas where we need to grow, and to encourage us as we focus on His goodness. The more we fix our gaze on Jesus, the more we will reflect Him to everyone around us.

"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16

May we radiate the light of Jesus to everyone around us today!
