"For God so loved the world" | Anchored in Hope Devotional

The eternal light of God shown into our dark, sin-cursed world through Jesus Christ! His love was demonstrated as He, the perfect, sinless Son of God, took upon Himself the full weight of our sin, guilt, and condemnation on the cross. He paid the price that we never could. Apart from God's sacrifice, we are all doomed to hell forever separated from God because of our sin, and no amount of good works can ever bridge the divide between us and God. But praise God, He did for us what we could never do for ourselves; He left the glory of Heaven, became a man, lived a perfect life, and then paid the ultimate sacrifice on the cross for us. “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him." (John 3:16-17) And then came Sunday, 3 days later! He triumphantly rose again conquering death once for all! "But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, as He said. Come, see the place where he lay." (Matthew 28:5-6) Hallelujah to our Savior for His amazing, glorious gift of salvation available to all who place their trust in Him! "And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
